Is the Water You Drink Acidic or Alkaline?

Did you know that majority of the bottled waters are acidic. Yes, acidic. That nice clear water in the pretty bottle can be misleading. We think we are drinking something that is the ultimate in health for our bodies or we wouldn’t be spending good money on it. We complain about gas prices, and, yet, bottled water is much more expensive. And, considering we should be drinking about half our body weight in water, if we were to purchase the quantity that our whole family would really need on a daily basis, it would be even more expensive.

Now, getting back to the acidity of most drinks. A low result on the pH scale means that it is acidic and unhealthy. A high result-8.5 to 9.5 on the pH scale, means that it is heathier for you to drink.

Sadly most sodas and energy drinks that people consume on a daily basis are very low on the pH scale. And, think about everyone that practically lives on Big Gulps. Surprisingly, however, in testing the pH of different bottled waters, I found out that most bottled, reverse osmosis water was nearly as acidic as the sodas and high fructose energy drinks. The sports drinks and children’s flavored waters were very close to the same findings-below neutral, and some were way below neutral. Is it any wonder why 96% of the population is overly acidic and prone to health challenges?

What we really need is to drink something that is more alkaline-not acidic-if we are to maintain are our health and well-being. What can we drink that is alkaline?

Where Does Your Bottled Water Come From?

The truth is out! Some brands of commonly used bottled water that consumers buy in stores all over the country come from the local tap source. Because of publishing rights, I can’t post the whole article, but read the article for yourself: “Aquafina labels to tell water’s source” — Click on this link and it will take you there:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19985269/ .

It may be filtered; however, it is then put into Number 1 bottles, and shipped and stored in a warehouse. How can you tell what the number is of the bottle you’re drinking your water from? Get a bottle of water, have it handy, and I’ll explain how in my next post and why knowing this is really important for your health.

Have a great, healthy, safe day,

San Fransisco Bans Bottles Water in Government Offices!

Wow! Starting this month in San Francisco, Mayor Gavin Newsom has banned city departments from buying bottled water for their water coolers. Other mayors, one in Utah and one in Michigan have followed in Mayor Newsom’s footsteps.

Imagine: 45,000,000 plastic water bottles are dumped into landfills every day in the US alone. Following is a quote by Sylvia Carter from Newsday.com: “Even if the water is not killing us, we’ve been had, money-wise. Both Aquafina by Pepsi and Dasani by Coca-Cola depend on supplies of municipal water; we are paying for water that came from the tap - which can end up costing more per gallon than gasoline. In many cases, bottled water in this country has been found to be no safer than tap water; the National Resources Defense Council tested bottled water and found a third of it contaminated with bacteria, synthetic chemicals and arsenic. The EPA’s regulations on tap water are stronger than the FDA’s regulations on bottled water.”

She continued, “The environment is at risk because of our ridiculous water consumption out of plastic bottles. Last month, the Houston Chronicle, in a strong editorial, spoke of “a beast-like mass two times the size of Texas” that slowly “roams and grows.” This is the Eastern Garbage Patch in the northern Pacific Ocean, likely the world’s largest trash dump, according to The Los Angeles Times; 90 percent of this trash is plastic, much of it water bottles. Americans annually consume more than 9 billion gallons of water in plastic bottles, most of them made of polyethylene terephthalate. It takes the equivalent of 18 million barrels of crude oil to create the plastic used in a year’s worth of bottles, according to the Chronicle editorial.” http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/ny-fdsyl5296059jul18,0,494428.column?coll=ny-entertainment-columnists

Unimagineable statistics, aren’t they? An incredible amount of plastic is used in the production in the sales of drinks-both water and soda, and mass amounts of crude oil are consumed in the process.  Petroleum by-products and CO2’s are unleashed into our atmosphere and environment as a result. And, on top of all that, all those bottles do not bio-degrade for 1000 years. What a horrible legacy we are leaving to the children of the world!

I personally don’t agree with drinking normal tap water in many areas, however. There are some statistics on that which I will get to you in the future. There are other alternatives; safe alternatives with added health benefits that won’t endanger our environment. Get information at www.be-alkaline.com . Go ahead and request the free book and the newsletter. Both are “need to know” information and pertinent to the times. The only ones to get your info is us & we will never share or sell it-very private.

More next time…

Take care, Live Green, & have a great evening,

Is There A Difference in Water? You Bet There Is!

Welcome to my blog. This is a subject that has always been important to me. As a natural health practitioner for over 35 years, there is nothing so basic to our needs as water, and nothing more controversial over the years.

“What’s best? Is there a difference?” Those are questions that have been pondered on for a long time.

As I go along on my posts, I’ll share some facts and tips on water. Perhaps we can keep ourselves healthy, as well as keep this beautiful planet we all live on as pristine as the picture shown above.

Come back often. In the meantime, go to the site below and download a great free book that I know you’ll enjoy.

Vogue Fashion Magazine Reveal Truth About Plastic Water Bottles

Hope you have had a great day. I wanted to let you know about the interesting article in this month’s Vogue magazine regarding chemicals in our environment and the fact that they can cause infertility problems and so much more. This is very  alarming. As one quote brought out, “We’re all awash in a sea of chemicals,” says Sarah Janssen, M.D., PH.D., a scientist with the Natural Resources Defense Council. “People continue to be exposed while we try and figure out how to test things.”

The chemicals of primary concern are a “group of synthetic compounds known as endocrine disruptors so named for their ability to mimic or block hormones that regulate many of the body’s functions.” One of these is ‘bisphenol A’, or BPA’s, widely used in…plastics. These migrate from your plastic bottle into the water, juice, or soda it holds….BPA masquerades as a healthy hormone while causing havoc in your body. BPA has been shown in animal studies to cause prostrate cancer and malformed genitals, and to harm mammary-gland development in females at puberty. Low-level fetal exposure in animals has been linked to breast cancer, and a recent study in Japan traced the chemical to an increase in miscarriages.”  Wow! Do you drink bottled water?

If you can, pick up this month’s issue of Vogue and read the entire article by Robert Sullivan. He does an excellent job of explaining the subject to make everyone aware of the harmful chemicals we ingest just by consuming beverages in low number plastic bottles and by using many other products we regularly have in our homes.

What can a person do? You can avoid many of these harmful chemicals and get healthier by simply making your own pure, Kangen, alkaline water perfect for drinking in your own home, and using glass bottles or #7 bottles to store it in. You can, also, use the low PH water -acidic water-for personal beauty care and strong electrolytic water for household use and become more eco-friendly for your own health sake and that of the environment.

It is so easy to make the healthiest water at home. Call us for more information. This is so exciting! Change your water…change your life!

What Plastic Is Your Bottled Water In?

Hi-Hope you are having a great summer Saturday.

Do you have your water bottle handy? Turn it over, and look for a little triangle embossed on the bottom, and there should be a number embossed within that triangle. Most water bottles, juice bottles, and soda bottles have a number 1 in that triangle. If that number is below #5, and it’s even better to have a #7 bottle, the toxic chemicals in the plastic are leaching into the water. The lower the number the more chemicals. So, if the number is only 1, which it probably is…that will tell you that even more toxic materials are leaching into your beverage of choice including water.

You see water is a solvent. Nature’s most impressive solvent. Your water is shipped and stored in warehouses, for who knows how long, until you, the consumer, buys it and drinks that water with all those added chemicals going into your body.

Not only are many bottled waters derived from the Public Water Source and have the potential of having the chemicals from the No. 1 plastic in the water, but it takes 16 billion barrels of oil a year just to produce the pastic in which it is bottled-not to mention the incredible amount of landfills the bottles occupy each year, and the fact that they take 1000 years to bio-degrade. What a horrible legacy to leave to the children of the world.
So if you are concerned about the environment, let’s stop the insanity!! Let’s get eco-friendly and get healthy, too.

More info next time you won’t want to miss…Have a great day,
